1. The Foreign Ministry has decided to issue Travel-alert Level 1, or Blue Alert (Precautious) for part of northern Laos (around Road 13 between Kasi and Phou Khoun, and Xaisomboun province), effective from March 25.

2. The nationals of the Republic of Korea visiting or residing in northern Laos are advised to pay heed to their safety.

3. On a related note, with regard to shooting attacks on vehicles carrying civilian passengers in northern Laos, the ROK Foreign Ministry has been advising ROK nationals to exercise caution. As part of such efforts, it has been sending out text messages; posting relevant information on its website on safe overseas travel and the website of its Embassy in Laos; and holding safety meetings with local travel agencies.
