1. On February 13, Foreign Minister Kim Sung-Hwan, who is on a visit to New York, had a telephone conversation with his Australian counterpart Bob Carr at the latter’s request and discussed ways to work together in responding to North Korea’s nuclear test.

2. Minister Carr condemned the latest nuclear test by North Korea and expressed support for the effective response of the UN Security Council to the test. The two countries agreed to maintain close consultation on the issue.
