1. On August 28, the government of the Republic of Korea submitted the ratification bill of a Framework Agreement for an ROK-Turkey FTA and an Agreement on Trade in Goods signed on August 1 to the National Assembly.

2. The ROK-Turkey FTA is expected to help improve access to Turkey's massive domestic market, which has the second largest population in Europe(73.7 million as of 2011), and support ROK enterprises’ entry into the markets of Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia and Africa.

3.The government looks forward to the passage of the bill by the National Assembly within 2012 and the Agreement taking effect at the earliest possible date.
