Korea Sends Second Batch of Emergency Relief Supplies to Earthquake Affected Areas in Haiti

1. The Korean government has decided to send a second batch of emergency relief supplies
worth 300,000 dollars to Haiti as part of short-term emergency relief aid, which was decided upon
at the Public-Private Joint Committee Meeting on Overseas Emergency Relief, held on January 19
to discuss supporting Haiti’s recovery from quake.
2. The second batch of emergency relief supplies contains 500 tents for displaced people and daily
necessities including blankets, towels, soap, toothpaste and toothbrushes. It will be sent to Haiti via
a cargo plane.
3. The aforementioned emergency relief supplies will be distributed to displaced people in Haiti by
the Korean force, which is to be sent to the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH)
in Leogane.
